Home / Work packages / WP2. Public health investigations in European LMICs
Basic information
Lead partner: NTSU
Participation: ICRA, UW
WP goals
To provide an updated picture of the situation of antimicrobial resistance in relation to human health in Moldova as well as other Eastern Europe LMICs. Specific goals are: i) to carry out a meta-analysis of antibiotic-consumption data as well as the prevalence and risk of infections caused by ARB in Eastern Europe LMICs; ii) to select prevalent multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens from a collection of isolates already available at the NTSU to be used in WP4 and WP5.
Specific tasks
2.1. Meta-analysis of antibiotic consumption in European LMICs.
2.2. Characterization of MDR bacteria from Moldova.
Milestones
M3. Design of questionnaire to survey the antibiotic consumption and knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) on antimicrobial resistance.
Deliverables
D3. Map showing areas with high antibiotic consumption across Moldova.
D4. Report on KAP in areas with high antibiotic consumption across Moldova.
D5. Estimated risk of infection by antibiotic-resistant pathogens in Eastern Europe LMICs.
D6. Collection of multidrug-resistant bacterial isolates (including ESKAPE pathogens) fully characterized in terms of phenotypic and genotypic antibiotic resistance profiles.
